Clipping. remixes Alt-J’ Hunger of the Pine

The second album from british indie-darlings, Alt-J, is just a few months away from it’s september release, and the trio – previously quartet – have spent the past couple of months giving us delightful teases in form of two singles and a music video. Today they released a remixed version of their first single, Hunger of the Pine, by Clipping. It’s very different.

Almost unrecognizable, the remix goes in a totally different direction, with Clipping.’ Daveed Diggs rapping some briliant lyrics over a powerfull beat – where a few samples from Hunger of the Pine enter the mix at perfectly timed intervals. Seeing as Alt-J made a name for themselves with deep layered music, it’s impressive to see this remix put even more on top, while still keeping it audible and fresh.
